Inclusion is the mother of diversity, equality and belonging.

Inclusion means everyone can be represented in stories and see themselves and their friends as recognisable people.

This is because creators and their publishers took time to find out what the people behind the characters are really like early in their storytelling journey. They started by stripping away their built-in judgements enough so that they could treat their characters in the same way they would like to be treated.

That led to a diversity of well-rounded characters and richer stories that more different kinds of people can read and relate to.
