Ngai the sun married Olapa the moon. In the beginning, they travelled together, the sun leading and the moon following. Olapa would get tired and Ngai would carry her for three days every month. After a violent argument with his wife, Ngai realised that he was cut on his forehead and he decided to shine extra brightly so that people would not be able to look at him without squinting. That is why the sun shines so brightly.
